Suits- When, Where and How?

Although it sounds simple, we know that suits can be overwhelming! With the many occasions that require a suit, you don’t want to wear the right suit to the wrong place. So we’re making things a little simpler for you.

The Office Suit

An office suit, quite simply as the name suggests, is a suit intended for office wear. Whether you have a presentation in office or an important client meeting, you could never go wrong with a perfectly tailored suit. Sharp dressing can boost your confidence level more than you think!
It’s best to keep it simple and classic without too much of experimentation, although this does depend on your field of work. Greys, blacks and navy blues are always the go-to colours but you could play with checks and stripes and add a patterned shirt to the look with a tie that doesn’t scream for attention.

The Casual Suit

Casual suits are all about comfort and style. This is where you can experiment with your personal style and mix things up by playing with suit fabrics and colours. You could go with pastel suits for a brunch or pair your blazer with shorts or chinos for a casual night out.

There are always ways where you can dress up or dress down a suit. For starters, you could lose the tie and go for turtle neck t-shirts on a brisk winter night or a well fitted crew-neck T-shirt on a warm summer morning.

Suits For Formal Events

Black tie events, of course, call for something along the lines of an extremely formal black tuxedo. Apart from black tie events, though, you don’t have to stick to the standard blacks and blues. You can always experiment with bold colours and unique cuts and styles from double breasted coats and three piece suits with a contrast waistcoat. Add a pop of colour with your tie or pocket square and experiment with your bow tie prints and fabrics.
For weddings, it’s probably easier to pick a suit because there’s almost always a theme or colour palette that needs to be followed. This is another occasion where there is room for experimentation, so long as you don’t steal the groom’s thunder!

Now that you know a little something about what works and what doesn’t when it comes to suits, we hope you know about all the cuts and styles a suit has to offer. If you’re a little rusty there, we’ve got you covered. Watch out for our next blog!
